<p>In an elevator device, an elevator car is caused to ascend and descend by a drive device. A brake device brakes ascending and descending motion of the elevator car. The drive device and the brake device are controlled by an operation control means. The elevator car and a landing have elevator doors. A first door-closure detecting means detects closure of the elevator doors. A second door-closure detecting means detects the closure of the elevator doors independent of the first door-closure detecting means. Based on signals from the first and second door-closure detecting means, a braking force release permitting means selects whether or not braking force of the brake device is to be released.</p> |
