<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain effective utilization of platinum which is a precious and high cost resource since, when porous carbon with a large specific surface area is used as a carrier, metal particulates, including platinum, enter the pores and the platinum particles existing inside the carrier are considered as not contributing to power generation. <P>SOLUTION: In the electrode catalyst for fuel cell, active metal particulates are carried by a conductive carrier having pores, and a third material which is different from the material of the carrier and the material of the metal particulates is filled in the pores of the carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
