PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for a vehicle with suppressed gear shift shock. SOLUTION: In this engine control device for a vehicle that controls to increase engine output torque during a down shift of an automatic transmission, a time permitting boosting of torque is set according to a torque boost amount calculated as transmission requested torque during a down shift.
