<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for lubricating the end face of a fixed dummy block which is used for a rear loading type short stroke extruding press, wherein the productivity is improved by shortening the cycle time of extrusion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A holding member for holding a solid lubricant for preventing seizure of a device for lubricating the end face of a fixed dummy block is constituted freely movably forward and backward in the axial direction so that the holding member is pressed against the end face of the fixed dummy block and the holding member is constituted so as to be movably from a position where is faced to the end face of the fixed dummy block to the position on the outside where is not faced to the end face and the application of the solid lubricant for preventing seizure to the end face of the fixed dummy block is performed in the standby position of the stem of the extruding press.
