<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbon material which, while reducing firing time upon production of a carbon material, suppresses the occurrence of blisters and cracks and variation in physical properties such as bending strength of the obtained carbon material. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a carbon material is characterized in that phenol resin-stuck carbon powder of 100 pts.mass obtained, while mixing phenols and aldehydes with graphite powder, by causing addition condensation reaction in the presence of a reaction catalyst, and a thermosetting resin of 10 to 40 pts.mass exhibiting a residual carbon ratio of ≥40 mass% are kneaded, the needed matter is thereafter dried and pulverized to produce powder for molding, the powder for molding is subjected to injection molding, injection compression molding or transfer molding, and, after that, firing is performed at 800°C or higher temperature in a nonoxidizing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
