PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility, a large current on/off ratio and excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: In the organic transistor having an organic semiconductor layer, the organic semiconductor layer contains at least one of a compound represented by general formula (1), wherein X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>4</SB>each independently denote a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkoxy, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkoxyalkyl or substituted or unsubstituted aryl; a ring A denotes a thienothiophene ring; a ring B denotes a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene ring, a substituted or unsubstituted benzo [b] thiophene ring or a substituted or unsubstituted thienothiophene ring.
