<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method (a measuring method of the shape of a three-dimensional object) and a device which can detect the shape of a three-dimensional object in an extremely short measuring time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The propagation times of the light scattered and/or reflected and/or emitted by an object to be measured are encoded as light intensity modulations and light intensity or light intensity distribution is measured.
