<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of effectively refueling when refueling is performed and simply managing the total amount of liquid fuel, and to provide a method for supplying fuel in the system. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 2 includes: a fuel cell 3 generating electricity by a reaction consuming a fuel component and producing water in the reaction; a circulation tube 21 connected to the fuel cell 3 to form a closed passage and circulating fuel to the fuel cell 3, wherein the circulating fuel contains the fuel component that has not been consumed and the produced water; and a fuel tank 22 interposed by the circulating tube 21. In supplying an optional amount X of makeup fuel having a concentration of a fuel component higher than that of the circulating fuel, an amount C of discharge of the circulating fuel discharged from the fuel tank 22 is calculated so that the amount of the circulating fuel increased by an increase of the circulating fuel based on an increase of the produced water is controlled to be a full amount value V<SB>max</SB>of the fuel tank when the fuel component in the circulating fuel after the makeup has been completely consumed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
