<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of efficiently resetting functions in the case of reset due to the elimination of dew condensation with the detection of a charge leak on a conveying belt. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In one embodiment of the image forming device, the image forming device includes: a voltage applying means for applying a voltage to a conveying belt to charge the conveying belt; a leak detecting means for detecting outbreaks of leak in the surface of the conveying belt; and a reset operation executing means for executing the leak reset operation for making the conveying belt travel without applying a voltage to the conveying belt by the voltage applying means in the case where outbreaks of leak is detected by the leak detecting means. The reset operation executing means decides the execution time of the leak reset operation in response to the operating condition of the image forming device when outbreaks of leak is detected by the lead detecting means.
