<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sureness of exhalation introduction into an introduction port, concerning a gas detection device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Exhalation is exhaled, while viewing a line-of-sight target 26. Since a position of the line-of-sight target 26 and the introduction port 20A is determined so that exhalation is introduced from the introduction port 20A, when the exhalation is exhaled, while viewing the line-of-sight target 26, the exhaled exhalation is introduced into an exhalation introduction tube 20 from the introduction port 20A. A flow velocity sensor 30 detects a flow velocity of the introduced exhalation, and when the flow velocity of the exhalation exceeds a value determined beforehand (for example, 1 m/s), the flow velocity sensor 30 outputs a detection signal, and outputs a message or a buzzer sound from a speaker 28, for informing that the exhalation is introduced normally.
