<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress piston hammering sound, by controlling internal pressure of a crank chamber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The piston hammering sound suppression device for an internal combustion engine includes: a decompression means 14 reducing internal pressure of the crank chamber 7 by sucking gas in the crank chamber 7; a fresh air lead-in passage 17 leading fresh air into the crank chamber 7; and an internal pressure control valve 18 disposed to the fresh air leading passage 17, and adjusting a flow rate of the fresh air led into the crank chamber 7 to adjust the internal pressure of the crank chamber.
