PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate whether or not digital data include waveform data and to perform efficient encoding. SOLUTION: Considering input digital data to be a sample value string of one or a plurality of known waveform data, waveform data likelihoods of the input digital data are found by using relation between sample values in the sample value string. When the one or plurality of found waveform data likelihoods meet preset conditions, it is discriminated that the input digital data include waveform data, but when not, it is discriminated that the input digital data do not include waveform data.
