Method and device for producing bags

The method involves guiding a continuous film web e.g. closure unit, and/or another continuous film web (44) cyclically in vertical direction along a welding station (45) at which sections of a film and/or the latter web are welded with other sections of the film. The former and/or the latter web are cyclically welded by ultrasonic welding. The station is provided with weld pads e.g. ultrasonic sonotrodes, moved at the former or the latter web in a horizontal plane, so that the pads rest against the webs during welding process under subjection of pressure. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for producing bags made of film for bulk goods or fibrous material.
