PURPOSE: A method and a system for controlling the transmission of a vehicle are provided to reduce a noise generated due to the second rising of an engine rpm by preventing the rising of the engine rpm after a power-off downshift transmission is completed. CONSTITUTION: Information related to a damper clutch state and a transmission state is received(101). When reduction and direct-connection controlling for a damper clutch is being performed, an engine rpm is firstly rose(118). After a power-off downshift is transmitted, over-driver/off transmission switching information and a turbine rpm are received(103, 111). When the received over-driver/off transmission switching information is in a turned-on state and the turbine rpm is more than a pre-set value, the additional rising of the engine rpm is prevented(115).
