<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear driving-type ultrasonic motor which securely guides a member to be driven while a shift resistance and a friction resistance of the member to be driven are reduced and which is miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: The linear driving-type ultrasonic motor includes an ultrasonic oscillator having a piezoelectric element, the member to be driven, which is relatively driven by a friction force with the ultrasonic oscillator, a depression member energizing the ultrasonic oscillator to a driven element, a spherical tumbling member supporting the member to be driven, a case member storing the ultrasonic oscillator, the depression member and the tumbling member, and a base member supporting the member to be driven through the tumbling member so that it moves.
