PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particles for image displays, and an image display, for repeatedly displaying an image with excellent contrast, even when a driving voltage is significantly low. SOLUTION: The display particle for image displays is used for the image display for displaying an image by moving the display particles by sealing the display particles in a powder form between two substrates, at least either of which is transparent, and by generating an electric field between substrates, wherein hydrophobicity of the display particle is more than 30%.
