<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mammographic system, which automatically detects a subject's body movements during the imaging of her breasts, removes the influences of her body movements or vibrations of the mammographic system and improves mammogram in quality. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mammographic system 50A includes a radiation detector 26 to detect radiation X transmitting the breasts 20 of a subject 18, and convert the detected radiation X into a radiation image; an imaging stand 28 to accommodate the radiation detector 26 and hold the breasts 20; a mammographic apparatus 10 including a pressure board 30 to pressure the breasts 20 by changing its position with its direction fixed to the imaging stand 28, and a radiation source 22 to output radiation X radiated on the breasts 20 via the pressure board 30; and detection means 46a, 46b, 76 for detecting the body movements of the subject 18 while her breasts 20 are pressured and held by the pressure board 30.
