PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of shortening a working time for ensuring an evacuation space related to the maintenance work of the elevator device. SOLUTION: The elevator device includes a lifting body lifted in a hoistway and having a first engagement surface and a second engagement surface deviated from this in a horizontal direction and positioned at a lower position; a shock absorber arranged in the movement route of the first engagement surface of the lifting body and restricting the lowest position; and a stopper provided on the shock absorber, movable to a non-operation position for restricting a further descend of the lifting body by being engaged with the first engagement surface at usual driving and movable to an operation position for restricting the further descend of the lifting body by being intruded into the movement route of the second engagement surface at maintenance driving.
