PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of controlling fuel injection for an internal combustion engine capable of coping with a misfire abnormality. SOLUTION: The control device outputs a signal for the feedback control of fuel injection timing with respect to a fuel injection valve 17 injecting fuel into a combustion chamber 16 of a compression ignition type internal combustion engine 1. The control device includes: a detection means 63 detecting the combustion state of the internal combustion engine; and a control means 50 executing the feedback control with a second gain larger than a first gain set when the combustion state is not in a misfire state, when the combustion state detected by the detection means is a misfire state.
