PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus capable of preventing faults that a user unintentionally touches a touch panel and an undesired operation mode or the like is set. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus (10) includes: an imaging part (21) which picks up an object image formed by a photographic optical system; a display part (16b) which can display the object image, etc., and is freely rotatably supported in two perpendicular directions; a panel (16a) for input which is provided on the display surface of the display part, and detects a position where an object contacts as input; a position detection means (28) for detecting a rotating position of the display position; and a control means (29) for setting the image recording apparatus in a first control mode for validating the input detected by the panel for input when the rotating position of the display part detected by the position detection means is within a first range, and setting the image recording apparatus in a second control mode for invalidating the input detected by the panel for input when the rotating position of the display part detected by the position detection means is within a second range.
