<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device for improving fuel consumption while reducing a sense of incongruity of a driver when executing slip control at a low vehicle speed. <P>SOLUTION: An ECU determines that a vehicle speed is lower than a predetermined value in an accelerator off-operated condition (Yes in Step S11), calculates a required deceleration (Step S12) when executing braking operation, and calculates a predicted deceleration which is predicted to occur when executing deceleration flex lock-up control in this condition (Step S13).
