PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for finishing a poly(vinyl chloride) surface which is suitable for recoating. SOLUTION: In the method for finishing the surface, a coating film is formed with a specific coating material onto the poly(vinyl chloride) surface in a steel sheet coated with poly(vinyl chloride), a poly(vinyl chloride) sheet or the like. The specific coating material contains polyol, polyisocyanate and a solvent as indispensable components, the polyol contains 40 wt.% or more of polyester-containing acrylic polyol and the solvent contains 10 to 50 wt.% of a ketone compound.
