Device for heating keratinous fibres, corresponding method and kit

Treating keratin fibers, preferably hair, comprises: (a) stretching keratin fibers, (b) applying a reducing composition on the keratin fiber for reducing disulfide bonds of the keratin, and optionally rinsing, (c) heating the keratin fibers by exposing to infrared radiation comprising wavelengths of 700-1400 nm, preferably 750-1400 nm, and (d) fixing by oxidation, to reform the disulfide bonds, by application of an oxidizing composition on the keratin fibers. Independent claims are included for: (1) use of a device for heating keratin fibers, preferably hair, for the implementation of the process, comprising one or more infrared radiation emitters, where the infrared radiation comprises wavelengths of 700-1400 nm, preferably 750-1400 nm, and wavelengths of 15000 nm to 1 mm, preferably 15000-25000 nm; and (2) a kit comprising the devices, one or more reducing compositions for perming and one or more oxidizing compositions for perming.
