A ventilation system of a toilet comprises a speed regulated electric fan 18 extracting odours from the toilet. The odours may be passed directly into the drain / soil pipe 'P'. The fan may be turned on when an inner toilet seat (10, fig 2) is down and activates a waterproof switch 16. Fan speed may be regulated by movement of a dial (22, fig 4). Tubing 20 connects the fan to the drain pipe. Air is extracted from a toilet at spaced intervals via a first 12a and second 12b extraction hose on an underside of the toilet seat. The fan may comprise a low voltage motor powered by electricity from a mains socket 'E'. |
