<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wavelength multiplex transmission system which suppresses influences to an existent wavelength, caused by a mistake of wavelength insertion or optical output level adjustment error by automatically performing extension wavelength insertion and optical output level control when removing a part of the existent wavelength and extending wavelengths by increasing the number of extension wavelengths in a corresponding wavelength band. <P>SOLUTION: The wavelength multiplex transmission system includes an extension determination/transmission level control section 15 in which, on the basis of wavelength levels in wavelength multiplexing signals measured by a wavelength level monitoring section 10, a set wavelength and a wavelength band removed in an existent wavelength multiplex transmission system are specified, an optical transmission unit having an extension wavelength included in the specified wavelength band is specified from among optical transmission sections 51-5n, a target value of the wavelength level corresponding to the specified optical transmission section is set to be uniform, and the optical output level of an optical transmission signal to be output from the specified optical transmission section is controlled in such a way that the wavelength level measured by the wavelength level monitoring section 10 becomes the target value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
