<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video and audio playback apparatus and a video and audio playback method, for generating a video and an audio at high speed in a well-balanced manner. <P>SOLUTION: The video and audio playback apparatus plays back video/audio data having first image data encoded by an intra-frame encoding, second image data encoded by an inter-frame prediction encoding, and audio data corresponding to the frame. The apparatus includes: a determination unit which determines a first rate and a second rate for extracting the first image data and the audio data from the video/audio data, respectively, and a number of times and a period of time of playing back the extracted first image by corresponding to a playback speed; a first extraction unit which extracts the first image data from the video/audio data at the first rate; a second extraction unit which extracts the audio data from the video/audio data at the second rate; a video playback unit which plays back the first video data at the number of times or for the period of time; and an audio playback unit which plays back the audio data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
