PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a ralatively accurate intake-air amount without requiring so many man-hours, in an intake air amount estimating device that estimates an intake-air amount based on calculated intake pipe pressure. SOLUTION: An intake air amount estimating device includes an intake pipe pressure calculating means MP for calculating an intake pipe pressure on downstream side of a throttle valve, and an intake air amount calculating means MV for calculating an intake air amount based on the intake pipe pressure calculated by the intake pipe pressure calculating means. Intake pipe pressure Pm<SB>(i)</SB>calculated by the intake pipe pressure calculating means is corrected as a first correction value (based onΔPm<SB>(i)</SB>) so that relatively accurate intake-air amount mc<SB>(i)</SB>is calculated by the intake-air amount calculating means, without being corrected to smooth out errors from actual intake pipe pressure.
