<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven and knit fabric having moderate wool-like tenseness, stiffness and dry feeling together with excellent pilling resistance and easy care performance by using 100% synthetic fiber and solely mixing modified cross-sections with the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A spun yarn is obtained by using a modified cross-section fiber having 1-8 decitex monofilament fineness, fiber cross-section with three to eight protrusions and an average value of modified cross-section degree (the value of a circumscribed circle divided by an inscribed circle diameter) of not less than 1.3, and carrying out 4-7 wt.% alkali reduction of polyester-based spun yarn solely consisting of the synthetic fiber.
