<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To travel for a longer distance than in a motor travel mode while suppressing vibration and noise even if a misfire occurs in one cylinder of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: When a misfire occurs in one cylinder of an engine and when vehicle speed V is a threshold Vref or higher, the lower limit rotation speed Nset of an engine where vibration and noise are suppressed to some extent is set as a lower limit rotation speed Nelim even if the engine is operated while the misfire occurs, the target rotation speed of the engine is guarded above the lower limit, and a new engine command power Pe* is set so as to compensate power short in the misfired cylinder (S120 and S140).
