PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and achieve space saving with a relatively simple and low-cost structure. SOLUTION: A digital camera 10 includes a lens barrier 12 which can freely slide and move between a closed position covering an imaging lens 13, and a first open position and a second open position exposing the imaging lens 13. An acceleration sensor 18 is built in the lens barrier 12. When the lens barrier 12 moves from the closed position to the first open position, a power supply switch 17 is turned on. When the lens barrier 12 moves from the first open position to the second open position, acceleration caused by the movement of the lens barrier 12 is measured by the acceleration sensor 18. When the acceleration is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value, a simple menu is displayed on an LCD, and when it is less than the threshold value, a detailed menu is displayed on the LCD.
