<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn winding machine capable of improving production efficiency in a package while preventing large vibration generated at a specific package rotating speed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A winder unit 10 possessed by an automatic winder has a cradle 23, a winding drum 24, a package rotating speed detecting part 52 and a motor control part 54. The cradle 23 rotatably supports the package 30. The winding drum 24 rotates the package 30. The package rotating speed detecting part 52 detects a rotating speed of the package 30. The motor control part 54 controls a rotating speed of the winding drum 24. The motor control part 54 controls so as to reduce the rotating speed of the winding drum 24 up to a predetermined rotating speed when the rotating speed of the package 30 detected by the package rotating speed detecting part 52 reaches a predetermined avoiding rotating speed.
