It comprises in principle a buried lower fuel tank together with a suction pipe running from the bottom of the tank to a suction pump of an apparatus dispensing the fuel. It is characterised in that it includes a sensor device (9) intercalated at an elevated point of the suction pipe which detects a change of state of the fuel from liquid to gas and vice versa when the dispensing apparatus is not in operation, said sensor device being destined to detect when fuel leaks occur in said pipe, in this manner preventing fuel spillage, thereby preventing contamination of land. Consequently the invention will solely operate when the dispensing apparatus is stopped, being effective when the suction pump is stopped and supply is not being made to a vehicle.
