PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn winding apparatus capable of forming a tapered end package by winding a monofilament by cross-winding. SOLUTION: The yarn winding apparatus 1 includes a bobbin holder 3 for supporting a plurality of winding bobbins 2 for winding yarns Y supplied in a plurality of pieces, a plurality of belt type traverse devices 5 having yarn guides 4 capable of capturing the respective yarns Y and traversing the respective yarns Y to the respective winding bobbins 2 by reciprocating the yarn guide 4, and a contact roller 11 arranged between the plurality of belt type traverse devices 5 and the bobbin holder 3 and pressed to a package Q formed on the respective winding bobbins 2.
