<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a silicon carbide porous body having low heat capacity by itself and good catalytic activity. <P>SOLUTION: The production method includes a slurry-forming step (step S2) of mixing silicon carbide with carbon to form a mixed solution (hereinafter referred to as slurry), a slurry-removing step S2a of removing surplus slurry after a slurry impregnation step, a drying step (step S3) of drying a polyurethane foam impregnated with slurry, and a sintering step (step S4) of subjecting a molded product after drying to reaction sintering in the state where it is immersed in a silicon melt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
