<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of search processing for thumbnails and the degree of user's satisfaction by displaying thumbnail images desired by the user, in a proper display order in accordance with a moving direction of a user's focus on thumbnail images. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A display device 100 includes: a thumbnail display control part 184 which distributes thumbnail images 202 arranged in accordance with a prescribed condition, to a plurality of pages by the prescribed number of thumbnail images and causes an externally or internally provided monitor (viewfinder 108) to display an array of the prescribed number of thumbnail images for each page so as to maintain the arrangement order of the prescribed number of thumbnail images; and a thumbnail switching control part 190 which switches among the plurality of pages in accordance with user's selection. The thumbnail display control part causes thumbnail images of a new page to be displayed in a display order inverse to the arrangement order when the thumbnail switching control part switches pages in an inverse direction.
