PURPOSE: A waterborne adhesive composition is provided to ensure crosslinking of low level and high adhesion performance. CONSTITUTION: A waterborne adhesive composition comprises: at least one film-forming polymer which is polymerized by aqueous emulsion polymerization; at least one crosslinking agent selected from a group consisting of polynitroso compound, polynitroso precursor, and mixture thereof; and at least one oxidizer. The oxidizer contains manganese dioxide.
