摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in steering feeling by minimizing a difference between static friction force (maximum static friction force) and dynamic friction force applied on a steering wheel by a friction force application mechanism, thereby minimizing a variation in steering reaction force applied on the steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device includes the friction force application mechanism 50 which applies friction force on a steering shaft 30 supporting the steering wheel to be integrally rotatable. The friction force application mechanism 50 includes a torsion spring 59 wound around the periphery of the steering shaft 30 so as to be capable of being fastened or loosened, for applying friction force on the steering shaft 30; a first coil spring 54 provided between one end 59a of the torsion spring 59 and a first cover 22, for biasing in a direction in which fastening force of the torsion spring 59 increases; and a second coil spring 58 provided between the other end 59b of the torsion spring 59 and a second cover 23, for biasing in the direction in which fastening force of the torsion spring 59 increases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
