<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing generation of white smoke while activating an exhaust after-treatment system early. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control device includes: an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) device 130 which recirculates part of exhaust gas from the exhaust side to the intake side through an EGR gas passage 131 having an EGR valve 137 disposed therein; an exhaust after-treatment system 110 disposed on the exhaust side; and an oxidation catalyst 133 disposed in the EGR gas passage, the control device controlling, when at least the temperature of the internal combustion temperature is lower than a predetermined value, to execute post injection in part of cylinders (#4), and also recirculate exhaust gas from the part of cylinders to the intake side through the EGR gas passage 131. The EGR device 130 includes a preferential introduction means which introduces, in execution of the post injection in the part of cylinders, the exhaust gas from the part of cylinders preferentially to the EGR gas passage 131 with the oxidation catalyst 133 disposed therein.
