<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a notebook type ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of further improving operability or compactness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 10 includes a body part 12, a display part 14, a probe 16, and arm 18. One end of the arm 18 is connected to the width direction center and anteroposterior direction center of the body part 12. Also, the other end of the arm 18 is connected to the lower end and width direction center of the display part 14. Three hinges are incorporated inside the arm 18, and the arm 18 is freely turnable relative to the body part 12 around a lower side horizontal axis K by the action of the hinges.
