PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gene marker capable of detecting chemical-tolerant cancer cells against antitumor agents of camptothecins, and to provide an efficient and comprehensive detection method using the marker and of chemical-tolerant cancer cells against antitumor agents of camptothecins. SOLUTION: The acquirement of chemical tolerance against the antitumor agents comprising a camptothecin and in the subject cancer cells can be detected by detecting amplification of one or more genes selected from ABC transporter genes or BCL2 family genes of the group consisting of ABCB6 genes, ABCB10 genes, ABCE1 genes, BCL2L2 genes, BCL2L10 genes and BCL2L1 genes, as the new gene marker associated with chemical tolerance acquirement of cancer cells, by analyzing gene amplification or delation in a chemical tolerant cancer cell strain to a camptothecin and the parent cancer cell strain, wherein the camptothecins are an antitumor agent specifically serious in side effects and frequent in administration to a cancer patient.
