Powdery or granular composition comprises low-fat milk powder (82-92 wt.%), mono- or disaccharide (4-10 wt.%), food starch (2-6 wt.%) and common salt (0.5-2 wt %). An independent claim is also included for producing a milk foam, comprising (a) suspending and dissolving the composition in the 8-14 fold amount of water, based on the weight of the composition; (b) mechanical foaming the above obtained suspension or solution to obtain the milk foam; and (c) optionally keeping a rest period for delivering of the resulting foam; #a container for immediate production of the milk foam, comprising a defined amount of the composition, a space to fill with water and a head space for the production of foam by shaking; and #preparing cappuccino, comprising placing the milk foam obtained by the above method on a coffee-containing beverage. |
