The vehicle has an insulated ring cable (2) attached to a supply voltage (4) and insulated based on a vehicle mass (5). A transmitter (6) is attached to the ring cable, and modulated a carrier frequency signal on the ring cable. Multiple receivers (7) cooperate with the ring cable for receiving the modulated carrier frequency signal and monitoring the ring cable. The ring cable comprises two ends (8, 9), and the transmitter and the receivers are arranged at the two ends of the ring cable, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a ring cable in a vehicle.
