PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can track the degradation of transmission status and prevent unnecessary retransmission.

SOLUTION: The communication system performs communications between a transmission-side apparatus 100 that divides data of one frame into a plurality of blocks and transmits them and a reception-side apparatus 200 through a communication line 300. A transmission-side control means 101 has functions to send transmission confirmation data including a newest transmission frame number and a reception completion frame number after the transmission of the blocks and to transmit a not-received block designated by the reception status notification data when receiving the reception status notification data from the reception-side apparatus 200. The reception-side control means 201 has a function to determine such a frame that is received on the basis of the newest transmission frame number in the transmission confirmation data when receiving the transmission confirmation data, and to transmit the reception status notification data indicating which block in the frame is not received.
