A roller skate wheel comprises a rubber or like body 10 with an axial cylindrical recess 11 in each face into which is press-fitted the outer race cup 16 of a ball or roller bearing unit 14, the inner race of each unit comprising a flanged axle sleeve 15 which extends with clearance into an axial bore 12, connecting the recesses 11, to abut, either directly or through a spacer, the inner race sleeve of the other bearing unit, and the two races of each units being held in assembled relation by an annular retaining plate 18 having its outer periphery 19 bent to embrace the rim of the outer race cup 16. Parts only of the edge 19 of the plate 14 may embrace the cup rim to leave upstanding projections to bite into the wheel body on assembly.</p> |
