PURPOSE: A water intake cock for a water cooler and a water purifier is provided to simplify and minimize configuration of the water intake cock by simply making configuration to operate the cock without a separated lever or a power supply device. CONSTITUTION: A water intake cock for a water cooler and a water purifier comprises the following: a water intake chamber with an inlet(210) and an outlet(220); a housing(100) formed on one side of the water intake chamber to be communicated with the water intake chamber through the inlet and the outlet; an operating rod(300) protruded to the outside of the housing; an elastic spring(600) moving the operating rod; and an operation block(700) combined to the operating rod to close and open the inlet of the water intake chamber.
