<p>The method involves providing an internal combustion engine (10) with an air intake manifold (12) and an exhaust manifold (14), and with an exhaust line (16) comprising three-way catalysts (20). A part of exhaust gas is taken in order to be injected into the intake manifold. The reformer is utilized to produce hydrogen, which is mixed to the taken exhaust gas. The part of the taken gas containing hydrogen supplied by a catalytic system (32) of the reformer is sent to the exhaust line for improving performances of the catalysts to treat the exhaust gas. The engine is a heat engine such as diesel engine or petrol engine. An independent claim is also included for a device for exhausting gases from a heat engine, including an exhaust line.</p> |
