The method involves taking a geolocalized photo containing updated information using a portable device e.g. portable telephone (2) such as iPhone(RTM: internet-connected multimedia smartphone). The geolocalized photo is transmitted from the portable device to a server. The geolocalized photo received by the server is visualized by an operator, and a location and information are determined from the geolocalized photo received by the server. The determined information is stored in a database by associating the determined information with the location.
