PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a missing points specifying apparatus capable of properly specifying missing points from a photographed image. SOLUTION: The apparatus for specifying missing points obtains a plurality of image data resulting from the imaging of roads, extracts from the image data a plurality of straight lines serving as image elements of the roads contained in the image data, and specifies crossing points of the straight lines extracted. The apparatus counts the positions of the crossing points in the plurality of image data, and specifies missing points based on the counting result. Generally, based on the characteristic that straight lines are formed radially from missing points, the apparatus extracts straight lines from the image data, calculates the crossing points of the straight lines extracted, and specifies missing points based on the result of counting the crossing points calculated from the plurality of image data, whereby it is possible to properly specify the missing points.
