The computer-platform has an application server (EA) for managing and controlling of medical application programs and its flow. A resource management server (ER) is provided for task flow management, data management and storage management. A network-service is provided for access control from outside, load distribution and management of servers and/or groups of servers. Each subsystem (DMS, EAI, OM, TMS, WMS) is operated by a separate server and/or groups of servers. The groups of servers consist of a server farm and/or server cluster. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for flow controlling computer-based medical task flows (2) a computer program product with a computer program code for executing a method for flow controlling computer-based medical task flows.
