The method involves receiving a tool (32) by a tool holder (34), and relocating the tool relative to contact regions (68a, 68b) with respect to a degree of rate of measured freedom movements (A, U, Z). The contact regions are forcibly guided with another tool holder (66) with respect to the degree of rate of measured freedom movements. A relative position of the latter tool holder is detected with respect to the contact regions during tangent contact, and a tool correction value characterized for the detected relative position of the latter tool holder is stored.
